Human Papillomavirus - HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection - STI, with about 80% of sexually active people contracting it at some point in their lives. While many HPV infections clear on their own, certain high-risk strains can lead to serious health issues, including genital warts and cancers of the cervix, vagina, vulva, penis, anus, and throat - including oropharyngeal cancer. The HPV vaccine provides effective protection against the most harmful strains of the virus. It is recommended primarily for preteens and teenagers aged 9 to 14 but can be given up to age 26, and sometimes beyond, based on medical advice. Early vaccination helps reduce the risk of developing HPV-related cancers and diseases later in life.

Hepatitis refers to inflammation of the liver, most commonly caused by viral infections. The most prevalent types include Hepatitis A, B, and C, with Hepatitis B and C posing significant risks for chronic liver disease, liver failure, and liver cancer if left untreated. Hepatitis B is a viral infection that spreads through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids. It can lead to both acute and chronic liver disease. Fortunately, Hepatitis B is preventable through vaccination. The Hepatitis B vaccine is a safe and highly effective way to protect yourself from infection. The Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for all newborns, infants, and unvaccinated children as part of routine immunization. Adults at higher risk—such as healthcare workers, individuals with chronic liver or kidney disease, people with multiple sexual partners or STIs, those who inject drugs, and close contacts of infected individuals—should also be vaccinated. It is also advised for travelers to high-risk regions and anyone who wants to protect themselves against Hepatitis B.

Rubella, commonly known as German measles, is a contagious viral infection that usually causes a mild illness with symptoms like fever and rash. While generally not severe in children or adults, rubella can have devastating effects if contracted during early pregnancy. It can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, or serious birth defects in the unborn child—a condition known as Congenital Rubella Syndrome - CRS. The most effective way to prevent rubella and its complications is through timely vaccination.
Rubella vaccination is especially important for women of childbearing age, as immunity before pregnancy greatly reduces the risk of these severe outcomes. The vaccine is recommended for all women in the reproductive age group, typically between 18 to 40 years. It is also advised for girls and women undergoing evaluation or treatment for infertility—both primary and secondary—and for those with a history of spontaneous abortion. It is important to note that the rubella vaccine should not be administered during pregnancy. Women planning to conceive should be screened for rubella immunity and, if required, vaccinated at least one month before becoming pregnant.

Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection caused by Clostridium tetani, which enters the body through wounds or cuts. Our approach focuses on positive, holistic, and evidence-based fertility care.
