1. HPV - Human Papillomavirus Vaccination

Human Papillomavirus - HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection - STI, with about 80% of sexually active people contracting it at some point in their lives. While many HPV infections clear on their own, certain high-risk strains can lead to serious health issues, including genital warts and cancers of the cervix, vagina, vulva, penis, anus, and throat - including oropharyngeal cancer. The HPV vaccine provides effective protection against the most harmful strains of the virus. It is recommended primarily for preteens and teenagers aged 9 to 14 but can be given up to age 26, and sometimes beyond, based on medical advice. Early vaccination helps reduce the risk of developing HPV-related cancers and diseases later in life.

2. Hepatitis vaccination

Hepatitis refers to inflammation of the liver, most commonly caused by viral infections. The most prevalent types include Hepatitis A, B, and C, with Hepatitis B and C posing significant risks for chronic liver disease, liver failure, and liver cancer if left untreated. Hepatitis B is a viral infection that spreads through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids. It can lead to both acute and chronic liver disease. Fortunately, Hepatitis B is preventable through vaccination. The Hepatitis B vaccine is a safe and highly effective way to protect yourself from infection. The Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for all newborns, infants, and unvaccinated children as part of routine immunization. Adults at higher risk—such as healthcare workers, individuals with chronic liver or kidney disease, people with multiple sexual partners or STIs, those who inject drugs, and close contacts of infected individuals—should also be vaccinated. It is also advised for travelers to high-risk regions and anyone who wants to protect themselves against Hepatitis B.

3. Rubella vaccination

Rubella, commonly known as German measles, is a contagious viral infection that usually causes a mild illness with symptoms like fever and rash. While generally not severe in children or adults, rubella can have devastating effects if contracted during early pregnancy. It can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, or serious birth defects in the unborn child—a condition known as Congenital Rubella Syndrome - CRS. The most effective way to prevent rubella and its complications is through timely vaccination.
Rubella vaccination is especially important for women of childbearing age, as immunity before pregnancy greatly reduces the risk of these severe outcomes. The vaccine is recommended for all women in the reproductive age group, typically between 18 to 40 years. It is also advised for girls and women undergoing evaluation or treatment for infertility—both primary and secondary—and for those with a history of spontaneous abortion. It is important to note that the rubella vaccine should not be administered during pregnancy. Women planning to conceive should be screened for rubella immunity and, if required, vaccinated at least one month before becoming pregnant.

4. Tetanus Vaccination

Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection caused by Clostridium tetani, which enters the body through wounds or cuts. It affects the nervous system, leading to painful muscle stiffness and spasms, and can be life-threatening if untreated. Fortunately, tetanus is preventable through vaccination. It is especially important to receive a tetanus booster after any injury that breaks the skin. At Stree Clinic, we provide tetanus vaccinations to protect you from the potentially fatal infection.

At Stree Clinic, we provide all above vaccinations & our team will:

1.  Explain the benefits and details of the vaccination
2.  Assess your eligibility and recommend the appropriate vaccination schedule
3.  Administer the vaccine safely and comfortably
4.  Answer any questions or concerns you may have

It is available to all women, irrespective of their age, marital status - married/ unmarried, religion, caste or creed. Our charges are fixed irrespective of the status of the woman and her circumstances. Our goal is to ensure that every woman has access to respectful, evidence-based medical care and support throughout the process. All procedures are performed by qualified and experienced doctors in a hygienic, secure, and compassionate environment, with utmost respect for your privacy and dignity.

We offer both Medical abortions - using medication and Surgical abortions, safely and effectively up to 20 weeks of pregnancy, and upto 22 weeks under special circumstances, in full compliance with the MTP Act. These services are typically offered as day care procedures, allowing most clients to return home the same day. Prior to the procedure, every client undergoes a complete medical screening, basic laboratory tests, and pre-abortion counselling, where all available options and procedural details are clearly explained. Throughout this process, client confidentiality is fully maintained. We do not perform sex-selective abortions under any circumstances, in strict adherence to the law.

Medical Abortions - upto 9 weeks
Medical abortion is available up to 9 weeks- 63 days of gestation. It involves taking two medications under medical supervision, spaced over 2–3 days, to safely terminate the pregnancy with out surgery. This method avoids anaesthesia and any surgical intervention. Protocols are followed for clinic/home administration. While medical abortion is generally safe and effective, in approximately 5% of cases, it may result in an incomplete abortion requiring a follow-up surgical evacuation MVA/EVA.

Surgical Abortions - upto 22 weeks
Surgical abortion is available for pregnancies upto 20 weeks at all our clinics, and up to 22 weeks at selected clinics. For pregnancies up to 8 weeks, surgical abortion may be recommended when medical abortion is not advisable. The procedure involves safely emptying the uterus using clinically approved methods such as Manual Vacuum Aspiration MVA, Electric Vacuum Aspiration - EVA or Dilation and Evacuation - D&E, with or with out the use of medications. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, sedation, or general anaesthesia depending on the client's medical needs and preference. Early-stage surgical abortions are usually completed in a single visit with minimal downtime, making them suitable as a day care service.

Management of Incomplete Abortions - upto 20 weeks
We also offer medical care for incomplete or spontaneous abortions miscarriages, including cases that result from failed medical abortions — especially those initiated without medical supervision. Our team is trained to manage such complications promptly and safely. There has been a rise in the use of over-the-counter abortion pills without proper guidance, often leading to serious complications such as infection, severe bleeding, or incomplete abortion. We strongly caution against self-administered abortions and urge clients to seek professional medical care.

Post-Abortion Support and Follow-up
As part of our Comprehensive Abortion Care, clients are supported at every stage — from consultation and counselling to the procedure and recovery. We offer free follow-up care for up to 15 days in case of medical abortions and 45 days for surgical - MTPs to monitor recovery and address any issues or concerns.  In addition, we provide contraceptive counselling and services, helping women make informed decisions about future pregnancy prevention. Breast Cancer Screening for Early Detection

At Stree Clinic, we focus on teaching Breast Self-Examination - SBE and providing Clinical Breast Examination - CBE as our primary screening services.

1. Clinical Breast Examination - CBE:   A quick, painless check-up done in a private setting by a trained doctor or nurse, especially recommended for women aged 30 and above. CBE helps in:

  • Detecting unusual lumps or changes early
  • Supporting timely diagnosis and intervention
  • Providing personalised guidance on breast health

During your visit, our team will also guide you on how to do Breast Self-Examination - BSE at home for ongoing monitoring.

2. Breast Self-Examination -BSE

Pap Smear - Pap Test
Conventional Method or Liquid-Based Cytology – A Preferred Method
Pap Smear is a time-tested and reliable test that helps detect early cell changes in the cervix before they turn into cancer. These early changes are called pre-cancerous lesions—abnormal cells that may develop into cancer if not treated.

If abnormalities are detected during screening, a cervical biopsy may be recommended. This involves removing a small sample of cervical tissue for laboratory testing:
·      Helps confirm the presence of precancerous or cancerous cells
·      Performed safely and gently by our experienced doctors

Treatment
Cervical cancer is highly treatable, especially when caught early. Treatment options depend on the stage of cancer and may include:
·      Cryocautery - Cryotherapy: A procedure we provide at Stree Clinic that freezes and destroys abnormal or precancerous cells on the cervix. It is quick, safe, affordable and effective.
·      Surgery, Radiation Therapy, and Chemotherapy: For advanced treatment options, we refer clients to specialized centers to ensure they

Prostate Cancer - in Men

Know the Warning Signs
Early-stage prostate cancer often shows no noticeable signs. In later stages, symptoms may include:
·      Difficulty in Urination
·      Urgency to pass Urine
·      Frequent urination, especially at night
·      Weak or interrupted urinary flow
·      Pain or burning during urination

If you notice any of the symptoms mentioned above— or have a family history of prostate cancer — please visit your nearest Stree Clinic at the earliest for a PSA - Prostate-Specific Antigen blood test. Even without symptoms, regular screening is recommended for men aged 45 and above. The PSA test is a simple blood test that measures the level of PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland. Elevated levels may indicate prostate issues, including cancer.

At Stree Clinic, our staff provides counselling before and after testing and ensures referral to trusted centers for further evaluation if PSA levels are elevated. The earlier a cancer is detected, the easier it is to treat it and the chances for successful treatment will be more.
Further Screening & Diagnostic TestsIf screening results are abnormal, additional tests may be recommended:
·      Digital Rectal Exam - DRE: The doctor checks the prostate for lumps or hard areas.
·      Imaging Tests: MRI or transrectal ultrasound to create detailed images of the prostate.

stree Natural Fertility Care & Consultations at Stree Clinics

Gentle, Natural Support for Your Parenthood Journey

At Stree Clinics, we understand that the path to parenthood is deeply personal — and not always easy. Many couples experience delays in conception, but most are not truly infertile; — In many cases, the body simply needs the right guidance, support, and natural care to regain balance and fertility.

Our approach focuses on positive, holistic, and evidence-based fertility care. In India, only about 10–15% of couples face true infertility, while the majority benefit significantly from counselling, lifestyle guidance, and basic fertility support. With the right care, 80–85% of couples can conceive naturally or with simple medical assistance, while only 15-20% may require advanced reproductive techniques such as IVF or ICSI

A Broader Vision for Fertility CareConsidering the growing concern of childlessness, there remains a significant unmet need for appropriate and timely fertility management. The recent shift in Reproductive Health - RH programs presents an opportunity to expand RH services through interventions that are accessible, acceptable, and affordable to a larger part of the community. The strategic approach of IEC for raising awareness to the community on causes of infertility and changing treatment-seeking behavior, so that it is directed to the appropriate treatment facilities and prevent various degree of exploitation, is a key part of this vision.

We also emphasize the importance of comprehensive counselling —addressing both psychosocial and clinical aspects of infertility — to equip healthcare providers with the skills to guide and support couples effectively.

At Stree Clinics, we believe that proper counselling, combined with preventive strategies and a step-by-step approach to investigation and management, forms the cornerstone of successful fertility promotion within the broader reproductive health framework.
